6 Nursery Changing Table Must Haves

When I was planning for my son’s arrival, I was endlessly searching for ways to organize a changing table area as well as must-haves to set out for easy access. I was unsuccessful in finding some inspiration, so I came up with my own! We have a changing table with a dresser but chose to fill the dresser with sheets, towels, burp cloths, and extra wipes and creams. This led me to purchase a side table and style it in an organized way. Here are the top six must-haves for your changing table!

  1. Glass amber soap jars
  2. Humidifier
  3. Cream Jars
  4. Baskets
  5. Wipe Warmer
  6. Greenery

1. Glass Amber Soap Jars |

These glass jars are great for easily using baby oil or baby lotion. They give a great modern farmhouse look but also make putting lotion on your baby a quick process, especially if they are fussy! Check out my blog post, Modern Farmhouse Decor for $15 for other ways to use these glass amber soap jars in your home! A two-pack is under $15 and insanely budget-friendly and versatile.

2. Humidifier |

Humidifiers are a great way to keep your baby’s skin moist, especially in the winter! Having this humidifier right by the changing table allows my son to have great moisture while he is most exposed during a diaper change! I love this humidifier specifically because lights up and works as a night light.

3. Cream Jars, 16oz and 20oz |

Having these two extra jars on hand is super helpful to have easy access to. One of them has some gauze in it and the other has a tube of intense diaper rash cream! I like having these two things we use often right at our disposal instead of searching for it through all the other lotions and creams I have. The cream color looks great with all of the other colors and textures in the room.

4. Baskets |

Baskets are super useful to hide things that are necessary to have out, but might not “go with the flow” of the room. These two baskets, which came from Home Goods and Target are perfect to hide the wipe warmer and the diapers. We go through a ton of diapers a day, so it is nice to just easily grab a diaper and a wipe and quickly change the diaper. I wanted to make sure the basket holding the diapers was big enough to hold a lot of diapers, so I would not have to replenish it often. This basket can hold about 100 diapers, which is great!

5. Wipe Warmer |

I did not initially think I needed a wipe warmer, it seemed like it would be a bulky-sized item that I would never want to use. But after looking more into them, I found the hiccapop baby wipe warmer and it changed our lives! Honestly, who would want a cold wipe on their bum! Definitely not me, and definitely not my newborn son. This basket is a great way to keep it hidden but at the forefront of our diaper changes.

6. Greenery |

I am a firm believer that all areas in a home need some type of greenery. This vase and greenery from Hobby Lobby give this wooden ladder shelf a clean look and finishes the area. You cannot go wrong with picking any greens for your vases!
