One of my favorite vacations my husband and I ever took was to Mackinac Island. It is a gorgeous island in Michigan surrounded by the great Lake Huron. We took many excursions while there, but the best was the sunrise canoeing. The water and sky were so clean and the colors were so vibrant I knew I had to display them in my home. I knew that small 8×10 photos would not do justice to the beauty that is Mackinac Island, so I decided to find the cheapest way to make a poster-sized photo collage! While finding the most budget-friendly way to make this collage, I found the prices to range from $500 to $1000 which was way too overpriced for me. I was able to get this great poster-sized photo collage for just under $150! Here is how I did it:
Step 1: Find some spectacular and gorgeous photos you want to display around your home. This could be wedding photos, photos of your children, or even a cool vacation spot like mine!
Step 2: Find an empty wall. I wanted to make sure that these photos were on display for everyone to see when they walked into my home. We have a formal living room that had a large empty wall, so these poster-sized photos worked great in that spot!
Step 3: Figure out what size posters you want to do, based on the wall and how much space you want to fill. I chose to use 4, 24×36 photos.
Step 4: Print off your photos! This part was where it got very expensive. Going to Walgreens or CVS to print them was way too over budget. Instead, I went to Staples and printed off these photos in 20×30. They are always having sales on prints and are way cheaper than the alternative places.
Step 5: Find the frames! Frames are always expensive, no matter where you go. I found the cheapest ones I could at Michaels, which is always having sales on frames. The wooden frames are of great quality!
Step 6: Enjoy your budget-friendly poster-sized photo collage!
